We have teamed up with San Diego’s leading marketing firm, Counterflow LLC, to bring you the legal event of the year: The San Diego Attorneys Open Golf Tournament: Plaintiff Attorneys V Defense Attorneys, in a revised matchplay format. These two sides will compete for the Attorney Open Trophy that will be engraved with the winning team each year. May the best side of the bench win.

We have built a golf tournament match drawing from the polarities in the courtroom and the different sides of the bench. We are bringing together the elite group of people who battle it out day in and day out in the trenches for an epic battle of pride on the golf course in the spirit of fun.

Golf Tournament Events

Compete head to head against the opposing counsel in match play at one of the fine country clubs in San Diego County and have the time of your life.

There is no better competition around for the professional services sector than a good old fashioned friendly golf match between the San Diego Plaintiff and Defense Attorneys. If you are a San Diego practicing lawyer, you are eligible to play in the first annual San Diego Attorneys Open Match Play Golf Tournament. Battle it out on the links against your rival counsel and may the best team win the SD Attorneys Open Trophy!

The golf tournament will be in medal match format, allowing participants to duke it out to the very last hole unlike strait match play, where the victor can win in as few as 10 holes. Medal Match Play keeps track of the total amount of strokes the opponents are ahead or behind, and the winner of the 18-hole competition with the lowest amount of total strokes gets 1 point for their team. A drink in the hand and an order of fresh banter – Participants will be invited to attend the welcome mixer the night before the golf tournament with a 1-hour hosted bar and hors d’oeuvres.

The SD Attorneys Open Mixer is an evening of fun designed for teammates to not only familiarize themselves with one another but to familiarize themselves with the other side of the fence as well. We also happen to know that when 100-200 professionals are in the same room together with a drink in their hand, the networking and relationship building will be top class. Participants will get to network and mingle with the tournament sponsors as well, making for a great way to kick off the event.

At the mixer we will announce the pairings for the match and participants will get a chance to meet their opponents and share a drink with them. There is nothing better than going to your rival high school’s homecoming dance. Yeah, that’s about what we are expecting. Participants will also be able to pick up their goody bags and team uniforms for the golf tournament.

A day of fun competition and a well deserved high-class dinner with a few good laughs.

After the golf tournament, we will hold the Attorneys Open Awards Dinner honoring the first annual winners..and losers. We are preparing a wonderful meal for our participants and want to invite them to bring their significant others to join us as well. We will also be awarding several other prizes including closest to the pin, longest drive, skins game winners, and the match of the day.

After Dinner, we will also be conducting the raffle in which we will have great prizes including golf bags, clubs, gift certificates and much more. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at check-in, and immediately following the tournament before dinner.

The Plaintiffs and the Defense will battle it out for the official San Diego Attorneys Open Trophy. This prestigious trophy will be the ultimate bragging rights in the courtroom.

The victorious party will cherish this trophy and take countless selfies next to it as they reminisce about how great of a triumph it was to win the SD Attorneys Open on that glorious day.

We will be taking team photos the day of the tournament and will be capturing the event every step of the way. The team photo is the simplest thing ever, but it the best thing we have to offer in making lasting memories. This is why a team photo is included in the entry fee for the tournament.
